The ultimate purpose of an Environmental Impact Study is to determine and analyze the effects that a project entails in different areas such as fauna, flora, social and cultural environment, among others, defining control measures over these.

These studies began to be required in the late 1960s in the United States, with the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which allowed the development of a system that made it possible to assess the underlying environmental impact of different projects.

This caused a change in the vision of the world that was held until then. The issue began to gain relevance, since there were concrete antecedents of the growing deterioration of the environmental quality of our surroundings.

In Chile, at the beginning of the 90s, Law 19,300 was enacted, the objective of which is the sustainable development of projects from an environmental perspective.

At present, the continuous improvement of evaluation techniques has allowed environmental impact studies to be more and more assertive, which has resulted in a continuous improvement of their quality, a development from which Maypro has not stayed away. Thus, all its services are oriented towards quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
